The Political board

LOL.

"I like to keep my political views to myself"

Who cares? It's an internet message board.

What's your party?

I tend to veer more left, though I always endeavor to keep both sides of any political issue in mind.

I'm fine with that. I just get annoyed by the extremist liberals. Like feminists, socialist, etc.

i tend to be more conservative, with the exception of a very select few specific issues that i think the government needs to have more power over - but i also tend to not discuss these views so much. religion and politics are the forbidden duo in discussion. but like you said, it's not like i'm ever going to meet/see you guys.

I see were you're coming from. I just started this thread because it's pretty important. I think politics is fine, but Religion....IDK. Religion is pretty personal and we would probably get in heated arguments with religion.

To start off with a Topic, what do you guys think of Gun Control?

Could use some work, but I don't think really strict regulations on guns would do all that much. As much as some people like to imagine a peaceful utopia if we banned guns, I think people would just turn to illegal means to aquire firearms; they are one of the biggest worldwide markets, after all. In the same vein, I don't think arming every citizen would be a good idea, as accidents and "accidents" would probably rise. The only exception to this would be if the US implemented mandatory millitary service like in Switzerland, so that people can truly understand the impact firearms can have. Like most things in this world, I think the ideal solution is somewhere down the middle: shore up loose ends for firearm aquisition like gun shows, but at the same time recognize that Americans love their guns and will always have a taste for them.

Greed. Guns do NOT kill people. Humans kill people. You can't just break the second amendment. I think of course you need a permeant to have a gun, you can't let mentally deranged people have guns. Hunting is one of America's best actives and without guns, you wouldn't be able to hunt. Well you can with a bow n' arrow, but it's alot harder.
